How does it work?
Step 1
Crew Chief taps, "Start Billable Work"
The app grabs the system time (not the user's manual input). This prevents "fudging" the numbers. The app pings the GPS satellite to record the exact Latitude/Longitude of where that button was pressed. The data is saved instantly to the phone's internal memory first. This means if they are in a "dead zone" (deep woods, no cell service), the data is safe.
Step 2
Data Syncs Instantly
The app detects a cell signal (4G/5G/WiFi) and "flushes" the data. The phone wraps the data (Crew Name, Activity, Duration, GPS) into a small digital package (JSON) and shoots it to your cloud database (like Firebase or AWS). The server catches the packet and checks it. (e.g., "Is this a valid user? Yes. Store it.") The server adds this new entry to the day's total. It automatically separates "Billable" hours from "Non-Billable" hours.
Step 3
The Owner opens their email or dashboard.
The system pulls all the data points from yesterday. It groups them by "Project Number" or "Crew Chief."It highlights this in red so the owner sees it immediately. The owner isn't just seeing "hours"; they are seeing efficiency. They can look at the report and immediately say, "Why was Crew 3 waiting for 4 hours? I need to call the client and bill for that delay."
